How to Improve Your CLEAR 4G Connection

December 16th, 2011

We want you to get the best experience with your CLEAR 4G service, so here are three quick tips to maximize your CLEAR connection.

Reposition your modem. Sometimes simple steps like moving the modem to a new spot in the house improves signal.  Move your CLEAR modem at least 3 feet away from any large appliance or other electronics since these items can interfere with your CLEAR signal. Find a location close to either a window or an area nearest to the CLEAR tower (find tower locations here).  For each change in the position of the modem, wait 15 or 20 seconds before trying the next position.  You may find that the signal strength is poor in some locations within your home, but strong in others.  This is normal, as some locations receive less signal from the CLEAR tower.

Check your modem.  If you have a home modem, look at the lights on the modem.  They provide an indication of signal strength and operational readiness of the modem itself.  If you have between one and five lights showing, your modem is working properly and is showing your signal strength.  Five lights shows the strongest signal.  If the middle light is flashing, the lights are scrolling or the lights are flashing in a random order, then the device is rebooting (give it 1 to 2 minutes to reboot).  If the lights continue to scroll after this point, try removing the power source for 15 seconds and allow the device to reboot again.  If the lights do not leave this state, your modem is defective and you should call CLEAR customer service at 888.888.3113 to ask about a replacement.

Check your computer.  If you are getting a sufficient amount of lights and are unable to get good speeds you should check your computer. Optimize your browser by clearing the cache (sometimes referred to as temporary internet files) and cookies. Close all other internet programs (email, etc).   Scan your computer for viruses and malware to be sure there are no issues.  If you have another computer available, try the same steps to eliminate your equipment as a cause for the slower speeds.

We hope these suggestions help you get the most from your CLEAR 4G connection and let you enjoy the freedom of mobile internet.  Be sure to tell us how CLEAR gives you freedom!

How do I pay my CLEAR 4G bill?

December 9th, 2011

Sometimes it’s the little details that make a company nice to work with.  At CLEAR, we think you’ll see this with our simple and worry-free billing methods.  We use paperless billing and your payment is automatically debited through a secure automatic electronic payment process with the card you provided on file.  This eliminates the need for you to mail a check, stand in line or worry about late payments.  Your payment will be processed on your due date, which can be found online by signing in to your account at www.clear.com, where you can also access and download your statements anytime.

You can always view your invoices at My Account on www.clear.com

CLEAR customers also have the opportunity to make one-time payments at any authorized CLEAR dealer locations, or through a Q-Pay location. If you make a one-time payment prior to your billing date, Clearwire will not attempt to process an automatic payment from your on-file credit or debit card unless there is still a balance due showing on the account.

Our Customer Care reps are available 24 hours/ day to answer questions about your CLEAR billing or service.
