The XOHM WiMAX network combines the best of broadband and mobility. Think of it as the mobile version of basic DSL or Cable internet service.*
XOHM is powered by WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), a wireless internet technology that provides reliable, broadband connections over large areas - even in challenging city environments.
WiMAX is a Fourth Generation technology (4G) created specifically for internet applications, services, security and mobility.
Built on Internet Protocol (IP) networking, WiMAX supports the latest IP security and quality of service (QoS) standards. This allows you to enjoy your favorite internet activities while on the go, just as you would at home, like streaming video.**
Because the XOHM 4G network is being developed with the internet in mind, it can deliver a better online experience*** than today's 3G mobile broadband networks. (Most of these were designed for making phone calls).
Once online with your WiMAX-ready product, you'll receive a signal from the WiMAX base station (usually mounted on a tower or a tall building). The wireless signal is then carried from the tower to your device. The result is a mobile internet connection that seamlessly travels with you throughout the WiMAX coverage area.
